DLAppTap (Full working title abbreviated from Design-Life App Tap) is an iOS Application that recognises specific items by the use of near field communication (NFC). This technology, which has been available on Android for a few years, is now opening into the world of iOS (iPhone, iPad technology).
DLAppTap is a company that branches from the new DesignLife App hence the name DLAppTap. The Tap part comes into play when you activate the NFC witht he unit or item that you wish to engage with by tapping it with your iPhone.
DLAppTap uses the database of DesignLife App and then adds in the articles from each new customer.
The NFC is achieved by use of nano thin stickers that store data and draw energy from your iPhone.

Many hotels suffer from consumers wishing to purchase products seen on the premises (such as items of furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, rugs, luxury goods, toiletries etc) and not being able to supply these items directly thereby losing £Ms in potential revenue.
The main barriers to them being able to do this are as follows:
*Bespoke items (not stocked) therefore not available in minimum quantities.
*Purchasing infrastructure not set up for outward sales / purchasing of product - only inward.
*SKUs not set up and no warehousing available.
*Huge initial investment required to establish this.
These are the main ones and they are considerable but there are many others. There are of course ways to overcome
these but they are expensive, time consuming and would take years for any individual group or hotel to see
a return on the investment that they put into this.
DLAppTap offers hotels a way to circumnavigate all these issues. DLAppTap will:
*Select items that can be offered for sale in minimum quantities
*Have trade accounts with all the suppliers
*Allow consumers to select in-app (using NFC) any size order and add to basket / checkout in one simple step.
The hotel will benefit by being able to sell products without ANY setup costs. They will also achieve a minimum 25% margin on all sales through their properties.
This way the hotel can enjoy a healthy sales of their products (branded and otherwise) without having to invest anything into the process of setting this up.
DLAppTap will also offer an option of “white label” so that a strong brand group will be able to rename the app under their own corporate identity.
A WORKING EXAMPLE
Luxury Life Hotel Group has a number of 4 & 5* hotels across the UK. They attract a wealthy clientele who frequently ask to buy items from the rooms and public areas but they cannot oblige in most or all cases.
Working with DLAppTap they can simply ask guests to download the App upon checking in and purchase in-app any items that they wish to purchase.
Out of the margin from wholesale to retail DLAppTap can then identify these sales automatically and commission
Luxury Life Hotel directly.
The group could even (for a fee) rebrand and design the App to be “Luxury Life App” thereby strengthening the consistency of Hotel brand and sales of goods.
